“Sometimes true musical talent just cannot be denied, even when it’s found in the sleepy fishing town of Brookings, Oregon.”
~ Gretchen Wilson, Grammy-winning recording artist
About Jessie
Jessie G’s heritage spans across four generations of commercial fishermen on the coast of Oregon. She spent much of her childhood aboard the hand-built family boat, searching for Dungeness crab and albacore tuna, and then selling their catch at the market and in their family restaurant while also playing concerts for the customers. Hard work runs in her blood. It’s doubtful, however, that Jessie knew that entering a Battle of the Bands contest with 98.7 the Bull, through which she won an opening slot on Grammy Award winner, Gretchen Wilson’s Portland tour date, would change her entire trajectory. Upon hearing her sing, Gretchen invited her onto her tour bus and urged Jessie to begin the journey that every young country singer-songwriter must embark upon —she moved to Nashville.
Jessie immersed herself fully into writing, teaming with some of Nashville’s best, and spent countless hours in the studio working on her sound. Jessie realized the true depth of what she wanted to say as a country rock artist. As a new mother and a military spouse, she credits much of her creative inspiration to her daughter and her husband who served in the Special Forces as a Green Beret.
“The last few years have been the hardest and most rewarding years of my life. Finding a way to write about my experiences has been very enlightening for me. I’ve grown so much through getting married and becoming a mother. I think it really shines through in my voice and in my music,” Jessie says. Her latest radio single “Like My Whiskey (ft. Gretchen Wilson) is already gaining steam across radio and all streaming platforms making Jessie one of the top independent artists on the Music Row Charts and continuing to climb up the Mediabase chart. Jessie’s new hit comes on the heels of her highly successful debut EP and singles, “You Lit a Fire,” “Whatever This Is” and “Army Ranger” which all made loud statements on radio worldwide, with heartfelt music videos that amassed millions of video views online and on national networks. You can now catch Jessie out on the road touring the biggest festivals, arenas and venues around the world, sharing the stage with some of her lifelong influences in country and rock music- Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Sara Evans, Gretchen Wilson, Jake Owen, Jerrod Neiman, Brantley Gilbert, Kid Rock, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Dustin Lynch, and many more!
“The fishing industry is closely related to the music industry,” Jessie says. “Working on a fishing boat toughens you up. And the harder you work, the more likely you’ll get the catch of a lifetime!”
